FAQs

I'm not sure which courses would be most suitable for me. How can I get some advice?

Our experienced team will be happy to talk you through the best options for you. If you’d like to ask technical questions we will refer you to a course lecturer for more advice if needed. We are also able to provide assistance on all areas of Plumbing apprenticeships.

How can I find the latest information on course availability?

You can call us on 01837 659357, alternatively, some course dates are listed on the individual course pages.

Where does the training take place?

Training takes place at our modern state of the art training centre in Okehampton, which has been designed specifically with Plumbing students in mind.

Can I visit the Okehampton training centre to find out more before booking?

Yes. Just give us a call to arrange an appointment and we’ll be pleased to show you around our Okehampton training centre and discuss the options suitable for you. We encourage all students to come along and meet the team and see current students in action to gain a better understanding of the course they may be undertaking.

How do I book a course?

You can either send an enquiry online or phone us on 01837 659357. Our experienced team are on hand to help talk you through the course you require information on.

What happens after I've made a booking?

Once you have made your booking, we will send you booking confirmation via email (or post if you prefer). This will then enable you to gather all the information you need ready to start the course. We appreciate for some students coming fresh out of education this can all seem a bit daunting, so our knowledgeable team are on hand to answer any questions. Likewise, if you are changing careers and find all the paperwork a bit daunting if you are commencing a course our team can talk you through the finer details.

What time do courses normally start and finish?

Courses start at 9am and finish at 4pm. We will confirm course timings and we recommend that you carefully check your course confirmation on receipt.

Can you provide accommodation?

If you are looking for accommodation while you’re attending any of our training we will be more than happy to provide details of some local places to stay.

How high are pass rates?

We pride ourselves on achieving high pass rates and will do our best to help students with exam preparation. Some exams are more difficult than others so pass rates vary. We recommend that learners carefully consider the prerequisites to assess course suitability before booking.

How long will it take for my certificate to arrive?

Certificates are usually sent to us within 2 weeks of the exam date for most courses. For the City & Guilds 6189 (apprenticeships), certificates are normally issued at the same time as the results (up to 12 weeks after the exam).

If an exam is included in my course, when will I find out whether I've passed?

For all online exams the results are available immediately. For written exams, papers are marked externally and it can take up to 12 weeks for City & Guilds to issue the results. Gas test results are normally available within 2 weeks.

Will textbooks be provided?

Textbooks will be provided for the duration of the course. At the end of the course textbooks must be returned in the condition received. If you wish to purchase your own textbooks please contact us on 01837 659357 to order, alternatively we can advise what textbooks you will require and advise where you can purchase.

Is there car parking available?

Yes, parking is available on our site.

What happens about cancellations or rescheduling?

If you wish to cancel or reschedule a course, cancellation and rescheduling charges may apply depending on the notice period given before the start date of the course. Call us on 01837 659357 for confirmation.

Is lunch provided?
