The LPG changeover (CoNGLP1) from natural Gas is for experienced Gas operatives who wish to commission, install, service and repair LPG appliances in permanent dwellings.
Permanent dwellings (PD) include the majority of domestic properties, such as houses, flats and bungalows and a small amount of commercial installations such as public houses and offices. Allowing you to work on LPG appliances for which you already hold a natural gas ACS qualification.
If you would like to work on LPG in other situations, for example, caravans or residential park homes there are additional qualifications:
Candidates will be assessed in the following areas:
LPG changeover and permanent dwellings initial assessment including training - £330+VAT.
Reassessment (assessment only) £230+VAT.
Any add-ons (additional appliances) £75+VAT each whilst in the centre. Alternatively, additional appliances as an initial assessment £150.00+VAT. Reassessment £100.00+VAT.
5 years. Candidates can undertake the re-assessment of any element up to 6 months early without losing any time (MOT Style). Previous certificates must be produced at the time of assessment as evidence.

For the initial assessment candidates must meet the entry requirements as laid out in guidance note 8 for category 1, 2, and 3 entrants (see ACS scheme rules).
Reassessment candidates must have held the element previously and can undertake the reassessment up to 6 months early without losing any time (MOT Style). Previous certificates must be produced prior to the assessment. If this has expired within 12 months of the assessment date the initial assessment must be undertaken.
Half a days training and approximately half a days assessment.
Assessment is carried out using a variety of methods including multiple choice, short written response, scenario questions and observed practical assessment.
